I can be dramatic. I think it's well justified because it makes my soul feel alive. Otherwise, it's just another boring day.
The shoe store in which I work can be boring, yet oddly fascinating at the same time. Many people walk by the little shop in the mall without ever looking inside. They don't see me, but I see them. I like it this way. I can know your story without having you ever know me.
There is A LOT to know about me though. I'm just bubbling with stories to tell. How did I end up here -- at this very shoe store? I'm not sure. Call it a miracle, or maybe even fate. This is my dream job. I don't work too many hours...but hopefully that will change pretty soon.
You see, I took this job because my friend (we'll call her Mimi) wanted it but couldn't work all the hours it required of her. I was there to save the day and to pick up the slack. The Boss Lady was Mimi's fourth grade teacher at one time. (Mimi was first pick for the position when Boss Lady decided her recently opened business venture needed some part-time help.) In total, three of us are on the company's payroll. We may be small, but we are great. At our store you can find designer shoes for 75% off, sometimes even more. My favorite has to be Steven Madden. Steven Madden for only $22.99 is excellent. Who could resist if they just took the time to notice our lovely store?
Business will end up picking up for my dear shoe store. Soon we may be getting featured in the local newspaper. Pure gold, I tell you. Pure gold. This store is a bargain for everyone.
Now that my introduction is done, I must go. Peace, Love, & Great Shoes Until Next Time, The Shoe Store Girl |
